HI, I’m Mélody
A Paediatric dietitian, mother & founder of Petit Gourmet Academy.
When I started to focus on early nutrition, and became a mother myself, I was struck by how much gold we hold in our hands as parents to shape our children's health and future eating habits. And yet, nobody tells us. Instead, parents are left alone, navigating a sea of conflicting information, weighed down by the fear of getting it wrong and the pressure of getting it right.
And that's just when it comes to feeding a healthy child. When feeding difficulties enter the picture, parents too often hear "they'll grow out of it", or find advice online that doesn't match what they live at every single meal. They're left feeling unheard, and the struggle at the table only grows.
That's why I created Petit Gourmet Academy: evidence-based support, deep listening and practical tools, tailored to your child, your family and your background. The brain of a professional and the empathy of a mother.
I'm a paediatric dietitian, trained and certified in France, with over 13 years of clinical experience in nutrition. I support families from pregnancy and the first 1,000 days, through starting solids, picky eating and more complex feeding challenges.
Because children's eating habits are shaped far beyond the family home, I also work alongside daycares, family restaurants and children's food brands, helping them create food offers where nourishment and pleasure finally meet. Over the years, I've trained more than 200 professionals and supported over 20 kitchens in transforming what they serve to children.
French, mother and expat in the Netherlands, I navigate two very different food cultures myself, and know firsthand how deeply recommendations are shaped by culture, as much as by science. I work in English and French.
My mission is for every parent, and every professional I work with, to leave feeling empowered, confident and truly supported. Because mealtimes shouldn't be a source of stress: they can be a source of connection and joy, at home and beyond.
PEtit gourmet Academy
Why it exists
Because I strongly believe eating well should not be a privilege, but a right, on par with health and education. It's a gateway to connection: between parent and child, between the body and its needs, between those who grow our food and those who eat it.
No parent should carry that alone. It takes a village to nourish a child: professionals, restaurants, food producers, educators and caregivers, all sharing that responsibility alongside families.
What It does
Petit Gourmet Academy translates paediatric nutrition science into practical, everyday action, for families and for professionals in childcare and the restaurant industry alike. It helps lay solid feeding foundations from the very first meals, and helps daycares, restaurants and food brands create offerings where pleasure and health become one.
Where it’s going
Petit Gourmet Academy aims to become a recognised reference in paediatric nutrition across Europe, and to transform the food offer for children, at home and outside, making nourishing, enjoyable food accessible to all.
What guides my work
Kindness
I never make parents feel guilty. A good-enough parent, imperfect, human, doing their best, is all a child needs. I acknowledge your emotions and mental load before sharing any information.
Scientific rigour
My recommendations are grounded in current scientific knowledge, never in trends, beliefs or fear.
Empowerment
Nutrition should strengthen your sense of competence and confidence, never add control, guilt or anxiety.
Practicality
I translate science into simple actions that fit real family life. Knowledge alone isn't enough: clarity, strategy and support are what turn it into action.
Joy & pleasure
Play, curiosity and pleasure are my method, not an extra. For children, they're how food is discovered. For parents, they're how mealtimes become a moment to enjoy again, rather than a daily battle.
My promise to you
I will never base a recommendation on a trend, a fad or fear: only on current, verifiable and referenced science.
I will never make you feel guilty.
I will never sell you support that you don't truly need.
I will be transparent about the limits of my expertise, and refer you to the right professional (doctor, psychologist, speech and language therapist) when needed.
I will make sure you leave with lasting confidence and independence, never dependence on me.

My Journey & Qualifications
I believe a good practitioner is someone who stays curious and continually questions their own practice. That’s why I make it a priority to stay up to date with the latest evidence, so I can offer you the most relevant, science-based support with compassion and clarity.
Being bilingual, I draw on the strengths of both the French and English-speaking worlds to enrich my approach and better meet the needs of diverse families.
