The HAPPY Gourmet
Foundation Programme
Lay the foundations for a lifetime of happy, confident eating, from the very first bite.
A transformative 3-month 1:1 programme with a paediatric dietitian by your side 7 days a week. Science that cuts through the noise, translated into your everyday life (even in the chaos), to bring joy, connection and nourishing meals to your table.
So you can be a confident parent, raising a healthy, happy little gourmet.
A powerful window
The first 1,000 days, from conception to your child's second birthday, are a powerful window for development and lay the foundation for lifelong health. Science keeps teaching us more about how to make the most of this period, and nutrition plays a big role.
This season also comes with plenty of questions, fears, doubts and conflicting advice, and the pressure to get it right! Especially if you're raising your child in a country with different food cultures and health recommendations than your own. Food recommendations are shaped by culture and policy, but the science of nutrition is universal. My role is to translate the latest science onto your baby's plate, focusing on what truly matters for your family.
You want to give your baby the best possible start. You hope to nurture a calm, joyful relationship with food and with their body, and to build habits that last a lifetime. Above all, you want to feel confident in your choices: free from pressure, free from perfectionism. And this is possible.
Too much (contradicting) information, not enough clarity
Endless Google searches. Contradictory advice from family, friends, social media, and yes, even among professionals. You want to do the right thing, but how do you turn all of it into concrete meals, adapted to your baby, in your daily life?
The mental load is real. Every decision can feel high stakes, and every new recommendation adds another layer of doubt. And then there's your real baby, in your real, busy life, who doesn't always behave according to the book.
Feeling the worries
Afraid of choking, or unsure how to introduce allergens safely
Wondering whether your baby is eating too much, or not enough
Worried about missing an important step or "window"
Hoping not to pass on eating habits you'd like to break yourself
You might be:
Figuring out the practical side
Wondering what, how, when and with what to serve: high chair, spoons, cups, plates
Trying to manage the logistics: planning, batch cooking, fitting meals into busy days
Hoping to make family meals work for everyone, baby included
Looking for clarity
Getting ready to start solids, and not sure on how whether purées, baby-led weaning or a mix is right for you, which food to start with? Which texture..?
Wanting to make sure your baby gets the nutrients they need to grow & thrive
Adapting to a specific diet: an allergy, your food culture, plant-based eating…
Dreaming of the joyful side
Hoping to support food curiosity, autonomy and joy at the table
If you recognise yourself, you're in the right place. Feeling the weight of this step shows how much you care, and you don't have to carry it alone.
From first tastes to the family table, your baby goes through distinct stages. I'll guide you through each one.
What your baby eats supports their growth and development. How they eat shapes something just as lasting: their relationship with food and with their own body.
That's why this programme goes deeper than what to put on the spoon. We look at your baby's nutrition and your family's way of eating, because your baby learns at your table: by watching you, sharing your meals and growing up in your food culture.
More than starting Solids
For your baby
A clear roadmap: what to offer, when, how and why
Confidence with safety: setting up meals, gagging vs choking, introducing allergens
Nutrition that supports healthy growth and development
Respect for their hunger and fullness cues, so they learn to trust their body
A curious, joyful relationship with food from the very first bite
For your family
A look at your family's eating habits, with realistic, gentle adjustments
Shared meals that work for everyone, not separate dishes for baby
Less stress and more pleasure at the table, for you too
Habits that last well beyond the first year
Before we start · Getting to know you
A personalised in depth questionnaire about your baby & your family health and habits, so every session counts from minute one.
An initial deep-dive consultation (45 min)
We take the time to understand your baby, your family, your culture and your daily rhythm, and build your personalised roadmap together.
Two follow-up consultations (45 min each)
Scheduled over the 3 months according to your baby's progression and your needs, not a fixed calendar. We adjust as your baby grows, new questions come up, or things don't go according to plan.
In between · I've got your back
WhatsApp and email support 7 days a week for the full programme. A question at lunchtime? A doubt about a new food? Just send a message.
All consultations take place online, in English or French. There's no need for your baby to join. And if your little one happens to be home during a call, that's absolutely fine: we'll work around naps, feeds and the occasional baby commentary.
How we’ll work together
I'm Mélody, a State-certified paediatric dietitian with over 13 years of clinical experience, and a mother of two. Over the past two years, I've supported more than 100 families through their little ones' first bites and beyond.
Every recommendation I share is grounded in current scientific evidence and international paediatric nutrition guidelines, then translated into simple, practical steps that fit your family's real life, culture and rhythm.
Alongside nutrition, I'm trained in the psychology of eating behaviour, which means we look at both what your baby eats and how they learn to eat: with curiosity, trust and joy

Frequently asked questions
Why work with a paediatric dietitian rather than follow advice online?
Online advice is often generic, contradictory, or shaped by one culture's habits. As a paediatric dietitian, I base every recommendation on current scientific evidence, and adapt it to your baby's development, your family's habits and your food culture. You get clarity instead of more noise.
When should I book?
Ideally a few weeks before you plan to start, so you feel ready from the very first bite. If you've already started, it's not too late: we'll start from where you are.
Purées or baby-led weaning?
It doesn't have to be one or the other: baby-led weaning doesn't exclude purées. I'll guide you on safe textures and shapes for your baby's stage of development and, above all, give you the key mindset to encourage an independent eater. Together, we'll find the approach that suits your baby and your family.
We're raising our baby between two (or more) food cultures. Can you help?
Absolutely. We'll bring together the science and the food traditions that matter to your family, so you don't have to choose between them.
My baby has a diagnosed allergy or a medical condition. Is this programme for me?
I'm trained in a wide range of feeding challenges, including paediatric feeding disorder, reflux and digestive issues, growth concerns, food allergies and intolerances. Book a discovery call so we can look at your situation together and see whether this programme or the SOS Feeding Programme is the better fit.
Do you work with families outside the Netherlands?
Yes. Everything is online, in English or French.
What happens after the 3 months?
You'll have the knowledge and tools to keep going with confidence. If you'd like more support later, additional sessions are available.
